GETTING TO AND FROM THE ISLAND

Our shuttle speedboat leaves the city of Kawthaung at (2:00 pm) every Wednesday and Saturday. From Kawthaung jetty to the Resort is roughly 1.5 hours by speedboat.

WAYS TO GET US

1.

Flying to Kawthaung

If you are arriving from within Myanmar, you can fly directly to Kawthaung Airport, which is connected to various domestic airports and served by several local airlines. You can choose the most reliable and convenient airline as the shuttle boat will leave from the Kawthaung Jetty (Myoma Jetty) at 2:00pm sharp. Your package includes a round trip transfer to/from Kawthaung airport.

Flying to Ranong

Another option is to fly to Ranong Airport. There are daily flights from Bangkok's domestic airport by Nok Air. The airport is well served by local taxi drivers but we can also pick you up from Ranong Airport with an extra charge. You will be picked up by one of our representative at Ranong Jetty (Saphan Pla Jetty).

Once you are in Ranong, we will take a longtail boat across the Pakchan River to Kawthaung on the Myanmar side, which takes about 20 minutes. We will help you with the immigration procedures before departing for the Myanmar Andaman Resort.

3.

Arriving via Phuket

Phuket International Airport is a convenient and well-connected place to fly to. From there, it’s a since 4.5 hours car ride to Ranong, the Thai border town. Here, too, we are happy to assist you and help you get organize.

Our shuttle speedboat leaves early in the morning on Wednesday and Saturday to transport you back to Kawthaung for flights heading back to Yangon or travel to Thailand.

SPECIAL PERMIT

A special permit is required for tourist who entered Myanmar through Yangon or Mandalay International Airport and would like to exit through Ranong, Thailand border town by border crossing at the end of the trip and those who entered Myanmar by border crossing from Ranong and would like to continue traveling to up country and exit through Yangon or Mandalay International Airport. Please kindly contact your local travel agent with the regarding of this special permit.

Local people there are majority Bamahs, some Salones (Sea Gypsies) and Pashu.

VISA

A visa is required. A tourist visa for Myanmar can be obtained from any Myanmar Diplomatic Missions abroad. Visas are valid for 28 days. Tourists who will be traveling to Myanmar on a Package Tour should present a copy of Myanmar Travel agent’s Confirmation of travel arrangements when applying for your visa. You will then receive an Entry Visa for tourist (EVT). If given advance notification 5 working days prior to your arrival, we are able to arrange for a visa on arrival (VOA) in Kawthaung (Victoria Point). For the process of VOA, we need passport details (name, passport number, nationality, father’s name) and address and occupation in abroad in advance.

CURRENCY

US Dollar and EURO is accepted. ATM’s are now available in select areas throughout Myanmar. Credit Cards and Traveller’s checks are rarely accepted except at select locations in Yangon.
